Legend has it that the Canary came to Walsenburg from the flatlands long ago, seeking work in the region's many coal mines. Canaries were employed to detect the poisonous gases down in the mines.
Most didn't survive.
Our Canary was crafty enough to stay alive year after year.
When the mines closed, our girl reinvented herself with her typical crafty flair by opening a modest community watering hole in the shadows of the beautiful Spanish Peaks.
Her sensational brews are crafted from the finest hops, yeast, and barley.
Her cocktails are a fusion of prohibition-era recipes and apothecary herbs, spices, and botanicals.
Come enjoy a wicked good time and remember our crafty girl's motto:
"Never die for the Man".

Due to state laws, we are currently prohibited from selling growlers or retail beer of any kind. Unfortunately, in municipalities of 10,000 or less, a brewery can't sell retail beer if they are within 3,000 feet of a retail liquor establishment. Good news is we're working hard to fight these laws!
Call us to reserve space for your birthday, retirement, or special celebration of any kind!
